2009 Memorial Day Special

Every keystroke and mouse click associated with converting Midlothian’s Village Code Book into a .pdf format are dedicated to all men and women past, present and future who believe the only way to earn the privilege to govern over a free society is by ensuring all laws are easily accessible by one and all…at all times.

There still is zero excuse for the Village of Midlothian to continue actively blockading any and all reviews of the 3 copies they are obligated by their own laws to have available for inspection at any time, including the decline of a FOIA request.

THANK YOU TO ONE AND ALL FOR YOUR LEGACIES!  I would not be who I am if those before me had not displayed the courage to sacrifice far greater than I ever could…

Identifying who might need to be taken to court

Village of Midlothian Village Code Project

A look at the role of Village Lawyer J. Daniel McGrath in The Mystery of the Missing Midlothian Municipal Codes and how his individual actions continue to leave the Village wide open for even more legal challenges in its present and future while invoicing the Village for “services rendered.”  This post outlines evidence why if there is any lawsuit to be filed in connection with the Village Code Book, it is The Village of Midlothian as a municipality that needs to pursue such recourse and the suit should include a complete and total refund of all monies paid to McGrath for “services rendered,” along with the recommendation to use such a refund to fast track the corrective actions necessary to cure this current condition.

A few minor notes

Although I have been maintaining/keeping an eye on the Municipal Code Book and Archives blog for coming up on a year now, the rest of these containers to The Midlothian Illinois Record are only a few weeks old and are in need of a variety of improvements I have scheduled over the next few weeks.

It was brought to my attention the format of this Index was not readable due to the quantity of links drawfing the plain text tags, so I have swapped in a new template and hope this helps you in your exploration of The Midlothian Illinois Record.

In addition, there have been questions as to why so many separate identities are being brought together into one site rather than simply rambling on and on in one container.

The decision was based on knowing not necessarily every visitor here is interested in my own personal views and opinions.  Even with tagging and categories opportunities via WordPress technology, I believed it would still fall significantly short in providing me a format to provide any visitor a variety of distinctly separate forums regarding Midlothian, Illinois.  For example, the Archives and Code Book blogs are crafted in as neutral of a perspective as possible, whereas Midlothian Politics and the Midlothian Mystery Series are written more as opinion and commentary.  If you are still cornfused about how The Midlothian Illinois Record “works,” click here to see summaries of all Active MIR containers.

Strong and harsh as my perspectives and positions might come across from time to time, I also know that there is always room for adjustment of perspective…no matter how confident I am that such previously stated perspectives and objections are “right.”  I am most appreciative for the feedback I have been receiving (yes…both the bad and the good!) and look forward to continuing my efforts with The Midlothian Illinois Record.

THANK YOU to everyone who has stopped by!

Copy of FOIA request denial by J. Daniel McGrath

Village of Midlothian Municipal Code Project

On May 5, 2009, 2 separate FOIA requests were submitted and accepted by an employee of the Village.  Since there is no need to FOIA the Municipal Codes since the Village is supposed to already have at least 3 copies on hand at all times, his response makes for interesting reading as to why the Village cannot accommodate both requests due to them being “unduly burdensome.”

Response to FOIA denial on May 15, 2009

Village of Midlothian Municipal Code Project

In a good faith effort to resolve these issues without wasting any more taxpayer dollars in resolving this issue, this response establishes the grounds for a lawsuit between the Village itself and J. Daniel McGrath.  It points out that if McGrath does not have complete and total access to our laws, then how can he possibly be expected to deliver competent legal services to the Village.  And if McGrath has a complete and total set of laws at his acess, then it only serves as another piece of evidence as to how the Village of Midlothian continues to suffer at the hands of his own negligence to advise the Village to go ahead and just make copies of his version so at least we’d be in compliance.

2nd Verse, Same As the First…well…not exactly

Midlothian Politics

Day 2 of Mayor Stephens Administration continues to serve up a few surprises from behind the scenes, despite the appearance of the previous Mayor’s name still remaining on the Village website.  Gladys Schuler, Village Information and PR, was on hand to produce a FOIA request form, but the timing of McGrath’s letter stating “an improperly filed request” in connection with the timing of this form being presented in connection to these issues only serves to demonstrate that despite a changing of leadership, there are still those entirely unwilling to climb on board.

Dear former Mayor Thomas Murawski,

The Midlothian Murawski Mystery Series

Dear former Mayor Murawski,

In contemplating the best location on the Internet to drop this note to you, I felt it most appropriate to leave it behind here in my Midlothian Mystery container, especially considering our history with you playing the role of Mayor and mine being that of Citizen.  Many have felt some sort of mysterious relationship between you and I, which is why I added the label “The Mystery Between Me, Myself and Murawski.”

And now a pause for intermission while we change the scenery…

I did alter this photograph, but only so that it would read truthfully at least here on the Internet as to who is now Mayor of Midlothian.

What an incredible turnout at the Village Hall meeting tonight!!!!
